About the role
Role overview
The Technical Implementations Lead (US, remote) leads technical solution delivery for Smile Digital Health customer implementations. You will partner with customers and internal teams to improve the performance, scalability, durability, and security of custom solutions, while supporting the professional services organization.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers to support implementation projects across Smile Digital Health products and services
- Configure the Smile platform, write scripts, troubleshoot issues, design technical solutions, and provide architectural guidance
- Build deep expertise in Smile core technologies and standards, including HL7, FHIR, OpenID Connect, Kubernetes, Java, JavaScript, JSON, and XML
- Manage priorities across concurrent projects; escalate requests to leadership when needed
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices to align client initiatives with new advancements
- Work with customer-facing teams (Implementations, Service, Account Managers) to improve profitability of professional services engagements
- Act as a technical resource for support analysts (development and troubleshooting)
- Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed
- Support development and evaluation of RFIs/RFPs to help secure new business
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in Java and JavaScript development
- Proven expertise in Spring, REST, SQL, and Git
- 3+ years designing, developing, and delivering software solutions independently and in teams
- Strong interpersonal skills; effective working with internal and external clients
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing a broad set of high-level issues
- Exceptional communication skills (written/oral), ability to lead meetings, document ideas, and persuade others
Preferred requirements
- Knowledge of healthcare open standards such as HL7 v2 and FHIR and/or CCDA
- Experience with Kafka or ActiveMQ (or other messaging systems)
- Experience with MongoDB and Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Python (and JavaScript)
- Healthcare system experience
- Cloud development experience (e.g., AWS/Azure)
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and iterative methodologies
- Undergraduate degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
