Technical Director

Role Overview

Senior technical leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering a next-generation AI-driven digital product at scale. You will guide the architecture and execution of a complex, real-time system built around multi-agent generative AI and stateful user interactions, bridging strategic vision and engineering execution.

Responsibilities

• Own technical direction and execution for an AI-native, highly complex platform with strong focus on scalability, performance, reliability, and UX quality.
• Lead architecture and delivery decisions across:
  • Frontend
  • Backend
  • AI orchestration layers
• Step into a partially established architecture and drive it through scaling, refinement, and production launch.
• Oversee development of a stateful multi-agent generative AI system with real-time interaction and evolving session memory.
• Identify technical risks early, shape scope, and ensure sustainable delivery timelines.
• Mentor and unblock a senior, multidisciplinary engineering team (frontend, backend, AI) and actively participate in agile ceremonies.
• Ensure high standards for code quality, system reliability, accessibility, and frontend performance for Angular-based applications.
• Act as a technical bridge between engineering, design, product/strategy, and client stakeholders to translate AI capabilities into UX decisions.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders and executive technical leadership to align on system design and delivery strategy.
• Establish best practices for AI-augmented engineering workflows using modern tooling and development practices.

Requirements

• Proven senior technical leadership experience (e.g., Technical Director, Principal Engineer, or Architect) delivering complex, distributed systems—especially AI or real-time architectures.
• Deep full-stack expertise across frontend and backend (including TypeScript/JavaScript and backend Python).
• Strong modern frontend framework experience, with Angular preferred (also React or Vue).
• Advanced state management and performance optimization skills.
• Experience designing and deploying scalable systems on GCP, including microservices, containerized architectures, and database design (SQL/NoSQL).
• DevOps experience and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform), plus monitoring and production reliability.
• Hands-on experience building/scaling generative AI systems (including multi-agent architectures, orchestration, and latency considerations).
• Strong system design, security, and distributed systems operations at scale.
