About the role

Role Overview

As a Technical Architect at Acquia, you guide and drive technical application design for Acquia customers. You lead technical teams and support clients across industries in leveraging Drupal and emerging AI-driven web technologies.

Key Missions

Guide and drive technical application design for Acquia customers
Lead technical teams in Drupal and related web development
Help clients leverage Drupal, open source, and AI-driven web technologies
Act as a technical lead on projects and support delivery success

Responsibilities

Lead/participate in code reviews to ensure quality and security in both human and AI-generated code
Contribute to backlog refinement and planning in your area of expertise
Design technical solutions that meet customer requirements
Independently research, diagnose, and resolve technical problems
Facilitate meetings, presentations, and trainings (e.g., via Zoom or in person)
Write production-quality code aligned with industry/community/Acquia best practices
Contribute to technical portions of Acquia’s PS methodology
Engage in knowledge sharing (e.g., architecture reviews, AI best-practice workshops)

Requirements / Profile

Ability to participate in face-to-face customer communication
Familiarity with common development tools, including:
- Git, Composer, Drush
- Drupal local/cloud environments (e.g., Drupal VM, Lando, DDev, Cloud IDEs)
- AI-assisted coding environments (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor)
Ability to perform simple debugging and use AI diagnostic prompts when needed
Ability to act as technical lead on simple projects, including:
- evaluating AI modules and third-party LLM integrations
Strong attention to detail and focus; reduces distractions on projects
Rapid onboarding to projects, including environment setup for personal use
Strong presentation creation/delivery skills
Ownership mindset, transparent communication, and willingness to acknowledge limitations
Strong empathy, patience, and emotional intelligence with customers
Keeps pace with the evolving impact of Generative AI on CMS architecture

Nice to Have

Strong technical knowledge depth in a specialization area
Experience contributing to development activities on delivery projects
Active self-direction and continuous learning in evolving AI/CMS practices
