About the role
Role overview
Team Lead, Delivery Management is a player-coach role owning what the Bolt delivery team ships. You lead and grow up to eight engineers while staying close to the code and product to make technical delivery calls.
Responsibilities
Delivery & execution
- Own end-to-end team delivery outcomes: velocity, predictability, quality, and safe customer-facing AI production results.
- Lead cycle planning from planning until working software is live in production (not merely merged or staged).
- Shape delivery cycles: size and scope work to cycle boundaries and ground commitments in honest engineering analysis.
- Maintain real-time visibility into capacity, workload, delivery risk, and operational health; surface issues early.
- Partner with Bolt Product leadership to translate product outcomes into deliverable engineering scope while keeping dependencies and cross-team ownership explicit.
Quality, standards & release
- Own the engineering–QA contract: define what “ready” looks like for QA engagement and what quality gates must pass.
- Reinforce technical standards and architecture set by Senior/Principal Engineers, holding the team accountable to code quality, review rigor, testing, and responsible AI engineering.
- Own release health: “done” means deployed and operating as intended.
- Drive completed work through release and remove process blockers that delay deployment.
Responsible AI engineering
- Treat AI quality as an engineering discipline.
- Ensure changes to agent behavior, prompts, models, knowledge retrieval, tools, and orchestration are evaluated proportionately to risk.
- Use production-informed regression coverage, repeatable evaluations, explicit release gates, progressive rollout, monitoring, rollback, and feedback loops to convert failures into durable test coverage.
- Use operational/product signals such as correctness, relevance, safety, latency, and reliability to guide engineering and release readiness.
