Role overview

As a Talent Investor (Venture Studio) at Founders Factory, you will identify and assess exceptional people who can build the next generation of companies. Many ventures begin with a problem or opportunity, and your job is to find the founder who can turn it into an excellent business.

Responsibilities

• Identify exceptional founders across Founders Factory’s global network and beyond.
• Create talent maps and develop a point of view on where the best founders/operators are located.
• Assess individuals for founder–market fit, going beyond CVs/credentials to evaluate potential.
• Build and maintain relationships with exceptional people who may not be actively looking.
• Influence high-stakes career decisions to convince selected candidates to start/build with Founders Factory.
• Help founders identify and recruit early founding teams across product, technology, commercial, and growth.
• Develop Founders Factory’s approach to founder sourcing, assessment, and talent intelligence as more ventures are created.
• Operate with experimentation and autonomy (this is not traditional recruitment).

• Founder quality: exceptional founders joining the ventures.
• Founder–market fit: quality of decisions on who should build which company.
• Speed: moving from venture thesis to founder commitment quickly.
• Founding teams: helping founders build the teams they need to succeed.
• Talent intelligence: building a proprietary network and insight into exceptional founders/operators.
• Repeatability: making talent investing more scalable over time.

Requirements / what you bring

• Strong interest in exceptional people and how great companies are built.
• Experience could come from VC, executive search, strategy consulting, investment banking, high-growth startups, venture building, or talent (venture experience not required).
• Ability to:
  • Spot exceptional people and form a strong point of view on potential.
  • Understand businesses/markets and what drives founder success.
  • Build relationships and influence people toward entrepreneurial commitments.
  • Source creatively—especially candidates not currently looking.
  • Work effectively with ambiguity, limited information, and autonomy.
  • Balance instinct with evidence; update your view as new information emerges.
  • Move quickly while maintaining good judgement.
  • Communicate clearly and challenge assumptions when needed.

Talent investing sits at the intersection of people, company building, and venture capital. Over time, there may be scope to expand into broader venture-building and investment responsibilities depending on the role’s evolution.
