Sytems & Infrastructure Engineer - Robotics (m/f/d)

Role overview

You will work at Quantum-Systems in Rostock to build and operate software and infrastructure for next-generation autonomous/robotic systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional robotics, software, and hardware teams across the full development and deployment lifecycle.

Day to day mission

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems on robotic platforms and ground control stations.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot network/communication architectures for field deployments.
• Build and maintain secure connectivity between distributed systems and remote assets.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot wired, wireless, and satellite communication links.
• Manage routing, firewalling, VPNs, and network services in complex environments.
• Build, deploy, and maintain containerized applications and supporting infrastructure.
• Support software deployment pipelines, automation, and infrastructure management.
• Monitor system performance, network health, and service availability.
• Support robotic platforms during testing, demonstrations, and customer deployments.
• Troubleshoot issues across software, networking, communications, and hardware.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational best practices.

What you bring

• Experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Embedded Linux, autonomous systems, robotics hardware, or edge computing devices.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, firewalls, NAT, and network services.
• Experience deploying and operating distributed/remote systems.
• Practical experience with containerization and modern deployment workflows.
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation and CI/CD principles.
• Hands-on ability to work directly on systems in laboratory and field environments.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills across software, hardware, and networking.
• Fluent English and strong communication skills.
