System Event Manager

Role Overview

Wing is hiring a System Event Manager to support a centralized System Event Management function for Wing’s engineering and operations teams. This remote role is based in the United States and focuses on leading incident response, triage, and cross-functional coordination during high-severity system events.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional incident response: orchestrate response efforts, make real-time decisions, and coordinate stakeholders to resolve issues safely and efficiently.
• Perform first-level investigation and triage: determine impacted systems and coordinate appropriate teams to mitigate effects.
• Document incident response actions using incident management tooling (what happened, what was done, and why).
• Capture outcomes and lessons learned and support documentation of standard solutions for internal engineering teams.
• Recommend improvements to processes, procedures, and incident-management features based on lessons learned.
• Help create incident management policies and procedures and define tooling requirements.
• Develop and deliver incident management training for internal teams.
• Track and close out incident investigations and reports.
• Travel between Wing sites as needed.

Requirements

• 3–6+ years of direct incident management experience; served as an Incident Commander or lead responder for high-severity, cross-functional incidents in a complex operational environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong decision-making and creative problem-solving.
• Ability to process multiple information streams in real time under high-pressure conditions.
• Clear, concise communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives.
• Ability to direct engineering and operations personnel in fast-paced, high-stakes situations.
• Experience with program management, operations process development, and emergency/incident response.
