System Engineer | $110/hr Remote

Role Overview

You will help research and engineering teams improve AI model performance through systems-level optimization as a remote System Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Guide teams to improve AI model performance via systems-level optimization
• Design domain-relevant tasks and implement solutions for performance engineering problems
• Evaluate performance engineering tasks and provide technical feedback
• Develop guidelines and rubrics to assess systems design quality across AI workloads
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure consistency in training data

Requirements

• Strong experience in performance engineering, systems programming, or low-level optimization
• Deep hands-on expertise in C++, Python, or Rust (and familiarity with the others)
• Proven track record of delivering performance improvements on production systems
• Ability to reliably engage for at least 40 hours/week during weekdays
• Strong written communication skills to explain complex technical decisions
