About the role
Role Overview
SWE Infrastructure Specialist (Java) — Freelance AI Trainer Project. You will help evaluate and improve AI model performance on real-world, Java-based enterprise infrastructure and systems engineering scenarios.
Responsibilities
- Engage advanced AI models with Java-focused infrastructure and platform engineering questions.
- Evaluate AI-generated solutions for architectural correctness, scalability, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
- Analyze Java design decisions related to concurrency, latency, throughput, and resource management.
- Review approaches for distributed systems, cloud-native deployments, and enterprise architectures.
- Assess testing strategies, deployment workflows, and reliability practices for Java systems.
- Identify and document model weaknesses, incorrect assumptions, and reproducible failure cases.
- Provide structured feedback to strengthen AI evaluation frameworks and reasoning.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks, operational risks, and system-level tradeoffs.
- Define quality standards and benchmarks for AI-generated technical solutions.
- Communicate findings via detailed technical documentation.
Requirements
- Strong Java development experience plus infrastructure/systems/cloud expertise.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems and clearly explain architectural decisions and tradeoffs.
- Experience building enterprise-grade backend systems; hands-on software architecture or distributed systems experience.
- Solid understanding of JVM concepts, application performance, concurrency, and resource optimization.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE practices.
- Familiarity with cloud-native deployments, containerization, and modern delivery workflows.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and excellent written communication.
- Degree in CS/Software Engineering (Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD) preferred.
- Experience evaluating AI-generated technical outputs is a plus.
Compensation & Work Style
- Fully remote freelance contract.
- Rate: $80–$150 per hour (based on experience, expertise, and geographic location).
