About the role
Role Overview
Strategic Product Manager – Emerging Products (Remote) will serve as a strategic product line owner responsible for the growth and profitability of assigned product lines (e.g., credit, debit, fraud, digital). You will define the product vision, lead strategy and execution, and drive commercialization outcomes through planning, analysis, compliance monitoring, and sales enablement.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute product line growth strategy, including business plans and sales support to drive penetration and profitability.
- Create and manage an annual strategic plan, marketing plan, and budget, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Perform forecasting for product line revenue and profitability using internal capabilities/capacity, market demand, and competitive intelligence.
- Lead product commercialization activities, including:
- Solution differentiation and positioning
- Pricing comparisons and cost/benefit analysis
- Advertising, marketing approach, and competitive comparisons
- Partner with Marketing Services to develop advertising and promotional materials for member credit unions and consumers.
- Conduct market evaluation and customer discovery with credit union stakeholders (research, surveys, focus groups, pilot testing).
- Monitor and integrate industry trends into product offerings; minimize competitive negative impacts.
- Create and share thought leadership on trends and usage of assigned product lines.
- Communicate product initiatives and performance to internal staff and external member-owners.
- Support executive committee tracking and reporting throughout developmental stages; participate in relevant partner/vendor/advisory group meetings.
- Represent Velera at sales meetings, vendor/partner meetings, trade shows, site visits, and industry functions.
- Direct the development of product documentation, procedures, training, and marketing materials.
- Conduct technical analysis to determine technical product direction and guide development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of combined experience in product management, agile project management, product marketing, technical product implementations, and/or business systems analysis supporting technical products.
- Minimum 2 years specifically in product management.
