About the role

Role Overview

Staff UX Researcher focused on developer experience at Arm. You will conduct foundational research to understand the motivations, needs, and behaviors of application developers, then translate findings into opportunities to improve development tools, software libraries, and technical content.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct user research studies, including:
    • Usability testing
    • User interviews
    • Surveys
    • Ethnographic studies (remote and in-person)
  • Partner with designers, product managers, and developers to define research objectives and prioritize efforts.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to uncover user needs and improvement opportunities.
  • Create research outputs such as user personas, journey maps, and user flows to communicate insights across teams.
  • Inform product development by collaborating on prototypes and wireframes based on research insights.
  • Contribute to UX research strategies and design recommendations, advocating for user needs.
  • Stay current with UX research trends, methods, and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a UX Researcher (or similar), with a portfolio showing impact across multiple research methodologies.
  • Strong skills in user interviews and usability testing, both in-person and remote.
  • Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and how to triangulate insights.
  • Excellent analytical skills to turn complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset in cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (or equivalent demonstrated experience).

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with design thinking principles and their use in user-centered product design.
