About the role
Role overview
Staff UX Researcher focused on developer experience at Arm. You will conduct foundational research to understand the motivations, needs, and behaviors of application developers, then translate findings into opportunities to create or improve development tools, software libraries, and technical content.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct UX research studies, including:
- Usability testing
- User interviews
- Surveys
- Ethnographic studies (remote and in-person)
- Partner with designers, product managers, and developers to define research objectives and prioritize research efforts.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to identify user needs and improvement opportunities.
- Create and communicate insights using artifacts such as:
- Personas
- Journey maps
- User flows
- Collaborate on prototypes and wireframes based on research insights to support a user-centered development approach.
- Contribute to UX strategy and design recommendations by advocating for user needs.
- Stay current with UX research/design methodologies and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a UX Researcher (or similar), with a strong portfolio demonstrating research methodologies and impact on product design.
- Proficiency conducting user interviews and usability testing, both in-person and remotely.
- Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and the ability to triangulate insights.
- Excellent analytical skills to turn complex findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
- Collaborative mindset working effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields (e.g., HCI, Engineering Design, Cognitive Psychology, UX Design) or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with design thinking and applying it to user-centered product design.
