Staff Threat Analyst (Ads Fraud)

Join Reddit as a Staff Threat Analyst, where you will play a crucial role in protecting our advertising ecosystem from fraud. You will have end-to-end ownership of advertiser fraud detection and enforcement, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies, detection playbooks, and enforcement frameworks. This is a unique opportunity to shape our threat response frameworks and detection pipelines from scratch. Key missions: Establish the strategy, build foundational detection playbooks, and define enforcement frameworks for Advertiser Fraud.. Conduct deep-dive investigations into complex, multi-entity fraud networks and sophisticated adversarial tactics.. Partner directly with Data Science and Engineering to translate investigative findings into high-precision detection logic, risk scores, and automated enforcement pipelines. Profile: - Strong proficiency in SQL, Python or R, and big data environments to independently query petabyte-scale datasets and construct adversarial network graphs - 7+ years of experience in threat intelligence, ad tech safety, trust & safety investigations, or platform integrity (focused on ad fraud, financial crime, ATO, or spam abuse) - Deep functional expertise in digital ad ecosystems, ad serving infrastructure, and ad-specific fraud archetypes - Demonstrated 0-to-1 track record of operating in ambiguous environments to build threat response frameworks - Experience using AI/LLMs as investigative copilots and partnering with ML teams to deploy LLM-based detection classifiers - Familiarity with global ad compliance, privacy regulations, and regulatory reporting standards
