Role overview

As a Staff Technical Program Manager at Upbound, you will manage end-to-end post-sale technical programs for Fortune 2000 strategic accounts. You will design program governance, surface risks early, and act as the senior post-sale point of contact for VP and C-suite stakeholders while partnering with sales teams on renewal and expansion motions.

Key missions

Own end-to-end post-sale engagement and account planning for a portfolio of Fortune 2000 accounts
Create and maintain rigorous program governance, including:
- Project plans
- RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
- Milestone tracking
- Executive status reporting
Serve as the primary after-sales point of contact for stakeholders including VP Engineering, CTO, and VP Platform Engineering
Partner with Account Executives on renewals and expansion motions
Help define the TPM operating model at Upbound

Requirements

Proven track record managing large-scale, complex technical programs in infrastructure/cloud/developer tooling
10+ years in Technical Program Management or post-sales technical delivery; meaningful experience with Fortune 2000 (or equivalent enterprise) customers
Extreme attention to detail: always-current documentation and high rigor
Executive-level communication skills (writing precisely, presenting confidently)
Comfortable operating in ambiguity while helping build a function from scratch
Active user of AI tooling (using LLMs/automation already; eager to push further)
Technical fluency to engage credibly with platform engineers and architects around:
- Cloud infrastructure
- Kubernetes
- DevOps workflows
Familiarity with Crossplane, Kubernetes, or cloud-native infrastructure platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
Experience in an infrastructure software company or developer tools startup serving enterprise customers
PMP/ PgMP (or equivalent) program management certification
Experience using and/or implementing project and account management software

Nice to haves

Deep familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure platforms and enterprise post-sales program execution
