About the role
Role Overview
Staff Technical Program Manager at Teradata, driving delivery of significant, multi-team technical programs across the company’s product portfolio. Own execution from kickoff through launch while partnering closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own planning, execution, and delivery tracking for complex technical programs across multiple engineering teams and product areas.
- Create and maintain program artifacts:
- detailed program plans
- dependency maps
- risk registers
- milestone tracking dashboards
- Facilitate cross-team coordination and decision-making (standups, program syncs, steering reviews) to keep delivery on track.
- Convert technical program status into clear stakeholder updates for product leadership and senior engineering audiences.
- Identify and escalate delivery risks early; lead retrospectives to drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate launch readiness across engineering, QA, documentation, support, and go-to-market teams.
- Maintain program metrics and surface trade-off analysis to support data-driven prioritization.
- Apply foundational AI skills to explore how AI can improve productivity and innovation across the workforce.
Collaboration
- Work embedded within Teradata’s Product organization.
- Partner daily with:
- Product Managers and Principal TPMs
- Engineering managers, tech leads, and QA teams (Vantage platform, cloud services, analytics)
- Design, Technical Writing, Support, and Marketing teams
- Finance and TA partners for resourcing and onboarding coordination
Requirements
- 6+ years of technical program management experience, including at least 3 years in enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, or data analytics.
- Experience managing multi-team delivery programs with engineering teams of 20+.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), data systems, and/or SaaS delivery cycles.
- Hands-on experience with Agile delivery (sprint planning) and program tracking tools.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills (run meetings, surface issues, provide crisp status reports).
- Foundational AI skills to understand how AI can be applied to improve outcomes.
Nice to Haves
- Familiarity with data warehousing and SQL analytics / cloud data infrastructure concepts.
- Experience coordinating programs across US and international engineering teams (India experience a plus).
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
- Background in enterprise SaaS, B2B analytics, or open-source data ecosystem delivery.
