Staff Technical Program Manager (Site Reliability Engineering)

Role overview

Join MongoDB as a Staff Technical Program Manager (Site Reliability Engineering). You will partner with SRE leaders and engineers to scale the platform behind MongoDB’s cloud products, driving program execution and strengthening production reliability.

Key missions

• Define program scope, milestones, and success criteria with SRE engineers and leaders.
• Manage cross-team dependencies and ensure on-time delivery.
• Lead change management and launch readiness programs.
• Collaborate with SRE and product teams to define and operationalize SLOs/SLIs.
• Coordinate incident response across teams, ensure clear follow-up, and build trust as the driver of complex cross-functional work.

Requirements

• 8+ years in technical program management, engineering management, or a comparable technical role working closely with software engineering.
• Low-ego, highly collaborative; motivated to own hard end-to-end problems.
• Excellent communication: clear, concise, and calm with engineers, cross-functional partners, and executives.
• Ability to query and interpret metrics, logs, or other data to inform decisions and communicate risk.
• Strong knowledge of production change management, the software development lifecycle, and reliability metrics (SLOs/SLIs).
• Ability to shape roadmaps and manage dependencies.
• Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-team platform initiatives through ambiguity and change.

Nice to have

• Hands-on or close-partner experience with Kubernetes, cloud networking, or observability stacks (metrics, logs, tracing, alerting).
• Prior experience working with or alongside SRE teams.
• Background in large-scale cloud infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Familiarity with MongoDB Atlas or similar modern cloud database platforms.
