Staff Solutions Architect (New Logo, UK)

Role overview

Join Temporal as a Staff Solutions Architect and serve as the primary customer-facing technical leader for the UK region. You’ll help prospects and customers evaluate whether their applications are a good fit for Temporal’s platform and cloud service, and you’ll own technical relationships with key decision-makers.

Key responsibilities

• Advise prospects and customers on technical suitability and fit for Temporal’s platform.
• Explain technical advantages and trade-offs of Temporal’s platform and cloud service.
• Position Temporal successfully against alternative technologies and architectures.
• Act as a technical advisor to Sales Account Executives.
• Help with scoping and sizing opportunities; anticipate where customer technical choices will align or conflict with Temporal.
• Provide architecture guidance on application patterns and platform architectures.
• Discuss production topics such as security, reliability, performance, cost management, and operations.
• Build application prototypes and guide design, development, build, and deployment using supported languages.

Requirements

• Strong ability to discuss distributed systems, design decisions, and best practices.
• Comfortable working with major cloud providers and common services used for application development and production.
• Excellent technical communication skills: presenting, whiteboarding, writing.
• Able to construct and guide application prototypes end-to-end.
• Familiarity with production operations topics (security, reliability, performance, cost, operations).
• Comfortable ramping quickly via docs, videos, and conversations.
• Strong technical coaching and collaboration with engineers at customer organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience as a technical advisor/architect in a customer-facing role.
