Staff Software Engineer

Role overview

Join Vetcove as a Staff Software Engineer and take ownership of major product areas that help veterinary clinics streamline operations and deliver exceptional patient care. You’ll design, build, and improve tools that manage billions of dollars in transactions.

Key missions

• Own major product domains end-to-end, from design through delivery.
• Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of complex product initiatives across web and mobile platforms.
• Set engineering standards, promote high code quality, and ensure strong test coverage across the codebase.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience owning complex, production-grade systems.
• Solid relational database experience, including query optimization.
• Strong expertise in at least one modern programming language and modern web frameworks.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and React, including architecting large-scale front-end applications.
• Consistent ability to write well-tested, maintainable, reliable code.
• Collaborative and adaptable in fast-paced or evolving environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to clearly explain complex ideas.
• Proven ability to design scalable systems, APIs, and data models.
• Bachelor’s degree required (ideally Computer Science or a related field).
