Role Overview

Staff Software Engineer, Product (Remote in Belo Horizonte)

You will serve as the engineering anchor for an initiative within a small, focused product engineering team (PM + designer + supporting engineering manager). The team ships end-to-end with strong product ownership and uses AI coding agents to increase delivery speed while maintaining a high quality bar.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle for your initiative: problem framing, technical approach, delivery, production rollout, and post-launch metric review.
• Make most technical decisions independently, with architect review on significant architectural changes.
• Direct AI coding agents to implement much of the code; also write careful hand-crafted code for sensitive areas.
• Define and drive implementation quality, including:
  • Prompts, guardrails, and evals
  • Tests (including edge cases)
  • Review loops and quality standards
  • Observability, rollback strategies, and safe production deployment
• Partner closely with PM and design on product tradeoffs and UX/prototyping.
• Present initiative results 2–4 weeks post-launch and ensure the “did it work” answer is measured and acted on.

Requirements

• Staff-level engineering judgment and autonomy: trusted to ship hard, high-impact work and stand behind outcomes.
• Ability to operate at end-to-end product execution quality (correctness, security, performance, observability, and customer/pro execution quality).
• Experience integrating systems and owning architecture, data model decisions, and rollout/rollback planning.
• Capability to raise AI-agent coding quality to a senior-engineer standard using evals, tests, and guardrails.

• Experience building workflows for small teams to ship far more than their size would suggest.
• Strong product sense and technical partnership with PM and design.
