Role overview
NetDocuments is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (OCR / Text Extraction) to help shape next-generation document management systems. You will act as a senior technical leader driving architecture and delivery of scalable, event-driven platforms that power mission-critical frontend and backend solutions.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for the document content extraction and transformation team, defining patterns for scalable, secure, and performant systems on AWS.
- Lead architectural decisions using OCR technologies such as Tesseract and Apryse OCR.
- Improve scalability, performance, and reliability, while controlling costs without degrading customer satisfaction.
- Guide the evolution of the extraction/transformation technology stack as product and customer needs scale.
- Make critical tradeoff decisions across user experience, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Design and implement event-driven architectures using AWS services and Kafka with modern data pipelines.
- Build production-grade applications and support technical excellence through mentoring and leadership.
