About the role

Role Overview

Staff Software Engineer (iOS) at Ramp. You will lead the next iteration of Ramp’s iOS app, drive the core product engineering roadmap, and partner closely with product and design teams. You’ll also mentor engineers and set engineering standards to maintain high quality across the codebase.

Key Responsibilities

Design, lead, build, and launch new capabilities for Ramp’s iOS app, advancing the core product engineering roadmap.
Own code quality: perform code reviews, set engineering standards, and ensure high-quality outcomes.
Mentor and raise standards across engineering practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Design to identify and plan key features.

Requirements

iOS development experience: minimum 5+ years.
Technical leadership: 2+ years leading and/or managing teams.
Proficiency in Swift for iOS development.
Experience with the mobile stack, including:
- SwiftUI
- Swift Concurrency
- The Composable Architecture (TCA)
- Bazel
- Widgets and app extensions
Experience contributing to at least one mobile app and/or features reaching a large number of users.
Strong ownership mindset (from inception through scaling in production).
Strong understanding of mobile design patterns and best practices.
Knowledge of iOS UI components and the iOS Developer Platform.
Understanding of security best practices for mobile apps.
Experience managing apps via App Store Connect.
Ability to learn quickly and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have / Additional Signals

Experience with backend technologies (e.g., Python, Flask, SQL, OpenAPI).
Experience with web apps (e.g., React and JavaScript).
