Staff Software Engineer

Build and operate production backend systems that power how families find care and how Care Professionals do their work.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core services for Honor’s public digital experiences and growth channels (DemandGen).
• Evolve systems from design through operation with a strong quality and debugging mindset.
• Ensure high-quality delivery and that clients benefit from attention to detail.
• Improve engineering and team processes by identifying inefficiencies and proposing actionable changes.
• Collaborate closely with design, product, data, and care operations in a cross-functional environment.
• Mentor others and contribute to a healthy, inclusive engineering culture.
• Communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical partners (written and verbal).

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience operating production systems.
• Experience designing relational data models and working with databases at scale.
• Familiarity with AWS and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with API design, distributed systems, and backend performance considerations.
• Proficiency in Python (or transferable backend experience with willingness to learn Python).
• Familiarity with frontend technologies: React, TypeScript, and Tailwind.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using AI tooling to improve productivity in coding and deployment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hiring salary range: $194,400–$216,000 USD (base pay).
