Staff Software Engineer

Role Overview

Staff Software Engineer (Foundational Frontend Engineer) building the frontend platform from scratch for a next-generation cybersecurity company. You will own the architecture and developer experience so every engineer after you can build on a strong foundation.

What You’ll Do

• Own the entire frontend platform end-to-end (architecture, frameworks, tooling)
• Build the core design system, reusable component libraries, and a state management layer
• Define standard APIs and patterns for how the team ships product
• Partner with design and product to turn complex security workflows into simple, flexible interfaces
• Deliver high-impact features that integrate AI-powered capabilities with a focus on clarity, usability, and reliability
• Establish testing, performance, and maintainability practices to keep the codebase production-ready as the team scales
• As the first frontend hire, set the bar for technical excellence and mentor future engineers

What We’re Looking For

• Experience building frontend foundations at an early-stage company or new product line (not just iterating on an existing product)
• Operated at Staff+ level (Staff, Senior Staff, or Principal)
• Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern web build tooling / application architecture
• Systems-level thinking focused on building abstractions and infrastructure that increase engineering speed
• Strong background in frontend infrastructure: component libraries, build systems, state management, and performance optimization
• Pragmatic architecture: know when to optimize for scale vs. ship working solutions quickly
• High engineering craftsmanship: code quality, attention to detail, and thoughtful design
