Role Overview

Staff Software Engineer at Ensemble Health Partners, shaping and implementing the company’s technology strategy across software delivery teams. You will architect and build scalable, resilient, and reusable systems that improve delivery speed and engineering efficiency, while mentoring others and elevating engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and continuously improve high-quality software.
  • Build reusable components, patterns, frameworks, and tooling for cross-team needs.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to turn product concepts into technical designs and incremental deliverables.
  • Partner with architecture to establish and advocate for technical standards, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Lead and participate in technical design sessions, spikes, and architecture reviews aligned to long-term platform strategy.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure quality and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
  • Troubleshoot complex multi-system issues in distributed architectures and drive sustainable fixes.
  • Promote engineering excellence via automation, observability, testing, security-first design, and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies/frameworks/vendors and advise on potential impact.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building production-grade applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and/or .NET Core (or similar).
  • Strong fundamentals: automated testing, CI/CD, code quality, observability, DevOps, and iterative delivery.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with at least three of the following (the full list is truncated in the posting): Continuous Integration and related engineering tooling/practices.
