About the role

Role Overview

Staff Software Engineer extending Circle’s in-house blockchain systems infrastructure to support tokenization of assets worldwide. You’ll build and own scalable microservices powering reliable, secure APIs for transferring value across blockchain and traditional banking protocols.

Responsibilities

Extend and improve existing blockchain systems infrastructure by analyzing requirements, procedures, and problems
Build and own scalable microservices providing reliable, secure APIs across blockchain protocols and traditional banking protocols
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to design, test, and shape features and define system design procedures, testing procedures, and quality standards
Troubleshoot system malfunctions to restore normal operation
Build publicly accessible developer APIs that integrate complex payment systems
Integrate Platform Services with leading banks and financial technologies
Consult with management on system principles and alignment
Deliver payment experiences with infrastructure including SQL/NoSQL data sources, messaging systems, and APIs

Requirements

7+ years professional software development in object-oriented languages such as Go or Java
Computer Science (or closely related) degree (or equivalent)
Technical leadership experience leading teams (team size >4) on architecture and system design
Expert in at least one domain: API design, payments processing, or blockchains
Deep experience with:
- Architecture, design, and deployment of production-quality scalable software
- Web3/blockchain and smart contract/business logic
- RESTful API design and development
- Cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
- Container orchestration (Kubernetes or EKS/ECS)
- SQL databases and schema design
- Coding standards and code quality with strong test coverage to enable continuous delivery
Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with remote teams
Self-starter mindset; comfortable shipping in a fast-paced environment

Compensation

Base Pay Range: $195,000 – $257,500 (base pay; total compensation may vary by factors and location)
