Role Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer at Ashby, you will own a significant part of the product end-to-end—driving projects from research and design to implementation. You’ll work with a collaborative team that emphasizes minimal process and individual ownership.

Key Missions

Take responsibility for a major portion of the product, from research to implementation
Design and build features that improve user experience, such as automated interview scheduling
Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to deliver successful projects

Requirements / What You Bring

Strong software fundamentals (e.g., debugging, abstractions) and ability to learn quickly
Ability to tackle work across the stack—choose what’s necessary to deliver a feature (frontend or infrastructure)
Ability to balance speed and quality in a startup environment
Ambition and openness to feedback to grow in responsibility
Experience handling projects with significant product and technical ambiguity
Excellent collaboration and communication, vetting decisions with stakeholders
