Staff Software Engineer

Role Overview

Staff Software Engineer at Aledade (remote-first). Lead the development of next-generation distributed data storage and processing systems, shaping product strategy and execution while ensuring high engineering quality.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Design and develop next-generation distributed data storage and processing systems
• Build scalable, high-performance solutions in collaboration with multiple disciplines
• Establish and maintain engineering process standards to support high-quality delivery
• Mentor and coach engineers; guide technical decisions and support professional growth

Requirements

• 8+ years production-level experience building highly scalable systems and infrastructure
• 4+ years working with SQL (or other database query languages) on large multi-table datasets
• Deep knowledge of database systems, including scalability and high availability techniques (e.g., replication, sharding)
• Experience designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes
• Experience with data ingestion systems and performance optimization for large-scale data processing
• Strong server-side web technology background (e.g., Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++, Go)
• Experience architecting, developing, and deploying large-scale distributed systems at scale
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines
• Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with performance monitoring and optimization of data systems and infrastructure

Nice-to-haves / Additional Requirements

• Experience with AWS technologies and Kafka
• 4+ years acting as a trusted technical decision-maker
• 6+ years with frontend web technologies (CSS/HTML/JavaScript) and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Ember)
• Experience with security and systems handling sensitive data
• Knowledge of data security principles and governance/compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
