About the role

Role Overview

Addepar is hiring a Staff Software Engineer (Backend) for its Order Management System (OMS) team in Trading. You’ll architect, implement, and maintain engineering solutions to solve complex problems, collaborate closely with product and engineering teams, mentor other engineers, and contribute to the design and development of a strategic product.

Architect, implement, and maintain engineering solutions for complex problems
Write well-designed, testable code
Lead individual project priorities, deadlines, and technical solutions
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and partners
Mentor other engineers and help raise engineering quality
Participate in design and development of a strategic product for Addepar

Requirements

8+ years of software engineering experience
Strong Java backend expertise
Proven ability to collaborate with and mentor other engineers
Strong ownership mindset and ability to tackle the most important problems
Experience delivering high-quality engineering processes and product delivery
Good experience with AWS (or another cloud platform)
Experience with databases and SQL plus exposure to NoSQL, OLAP, and/or data lake architectures

Nice-to-Haves

Data processing and analysis experience using SQL, PySpark, or similar frameworks
Passion for automation and implementing standard engineering processes
CS degree (B.S. or M.S.) or equivalent practical experience
