Role overview

Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (Staff SDET) at Super.com. This is a high-impact, staff-level individual contributor role combining technical strategy, hands-on execution, and organizational enablement. You will act as a company-wide subject matter expert for quality engineering, driving AI-enabled transformation across QA and Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive AI Enablement strategy for QA, owning projects that scale and introducing new capabilities across QA and Engineering.
• Architect, build, and improve quality automation frameworks, including improving the current Playwright-based testing stack.
• Create and execute automation roadmaps to expand and evolve regression and coverage.
• Own automated collection of QA metrics, operationalize the data, and use it to drive business outcomes.
• Identify trends in quality data and socialize learnings across the organization.
• Partner closely on the most critical projects to deliver urgent/new/enhanced automated coverage, especially where gaps exist.
• Contribute to coding standards and software engineering best practices, improving code quality by both people and AI agents at scale.
• Expand QA capability into new domains such as data, performance, and stability.
• Own and improve quality-related release components, including QA CI strategy, to improve cycle time and deployment rate without compromising quality metrics.
• Mentor QAs toward increasingly automation/AI-first ways of working; raise the technical bar via learning sessions and “guilds”.

Requirements & preferred qualifications

• Staff-level expertise in quality engineering / test automation with strong technical strategy and execution.
• Proven ability to independently identify gaps, set direction, and drive work through to adoption.
• Experience building or evolving scalable testing frameworks (notably Playwright).
• Strong data/metrics mindset for driving outcomes through QA metrics.
• Ability to mentor and influence teams without direct people management responsibility.
