Role overview
As a Staff Software Developer (Services) at Slice, you will design and launch innovative backend features that help restaurant partners run more effectively. You’ll work with a small, agile team, taking ownership of initiatives from concept to production, and ensuring service quality and performance at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, and launch new backend features for restaurant partners
- Identify technical opportunities that deliver disproportionate value
- Own end-to-end projects in close collaboration with Product and Design teams
- Ensure backend quality, reliability, and performance at scale
- Collaborate effectively with a distributed team, communicating asynchronously
Requirements

- Creative problem-solving; experiment, adapt, and iterate
- Owner’s mindset with urgency and end-to-end ownership
- Proven experience building scalable backend systems in Python (Flask)
- Experience with databases and cloud services
- Ability to dive into monitoring and logging tools
- Technology-agnostic: can quickly learn new languages/frameworks as needed
Nice to have
- Experience with other languages/frameworks such as Go or Ruby
