Staff Site Reliability Engineer

Role Overview

Assured is hiring a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to help build and run efficient, reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure for its SaaS platform. You’ll work in a startup environment and take ownership of deploying and automating platform delivery at scale.

Responsibilities

• Provision infrastructure and tooling to deliver the Assured platform, scaling existing products and launching new infrastructure to support new initiatives.
• Build automated tooling for configuring and maintaining platform services with consistency and repeatability.
• Design sustainable monitoring and scaling practices for platforms and services.
• Collaborate across teams to improve observability across product areas.
• Security and compliance: identify, recommend, and implement strategies aligned with security regulations and industry best practices.
• Incident response and participate in on-call rotation.
• Lead and mentor engineers through guidance, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Experience autonomously building and scaling high-quality products/environments from early stages to maturity.
• Strong automation mindset with good judgment on when automation isn’t appropriate.
• Initiative for solving important cross-cutting technical problems and coordinating with others.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and scalable database solutions, ideally PostgreSQL.
• Passion for observability (SLOs, monitoring, alerting).
• Experience working at scale with Terraform, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Strong engineering background and ability to operate with minimal oversight.

• Experience improving observability platforms and processes across multiple product areas.
