Staff SDET Engineer

Role overview

Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join Cint’s Quality Engineering team as a senior individual contributor. You will design, build, and maintain advanced test automation frameworks, raise the overall quality bar across the development lifecycle, and mentor other engineers. Remote (all over Brazil).

Responsibilities

• Test automation architecture: Design, develop, and implement highly scalable, reliable, and maintainable test automation frameworks from scratch across web, APIs, and backend services.
• Testing technical authority: Lead on testing methodologies, tools, and best practices; evaluate and integrate new automation technologies into the existing infrastructure.
• Automation code quality: Drive standards for structure and maintainability; perform code reviews for automation scripts and framework contributions.
• Non-functional testing: Design and run advanced performance and load tests; integrate results into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Shift-left quality: Partner with development and product teams to integrate testing practices early; implement quality gates and coverage metrics.
• CI/CD integration: Own and optimize automated test integration for fast feedback and “zero defect leakage” to production.
• Troubleshooting: Debug complex system failures and identify root causes in both application code and test infrastructure.
• Mentorship & documentation: Mentor junior/mid SDETs, maintain comprehensive documentation, and enable self-service quality.
• Quality roadmap: Contribute to long-term quality strategy and technology choices with Engineering Managers and Principal Engineers.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Playwright for automation
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript
• Proven experience designing/implementing CI/CD pipeline architectures
• Deep knowledge of REST API testing methodologies and tools
• Excellent communication and ability to challenge ideas constructively in technical forums
• Strong analytical skills for defect data trends/patterns
• Interest in emerging technologies (including AI) and modern testing approaches
• Strong problem-solving ability and composure in complex environments
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
