About the role
Role overview
Join Feeld as a Staff Reliability Engineer (Full Stack). You’ll improve reliability and operability of production systems, lead technical decisions, and strengthen engineering practices with significant cross-team influence in a remote-first environment.
Key missions
- Lead incident problem-solving: coordinate response, diagnose root causes, communicate status, and drive resolution.
- Build and evolve observability: develop monitoring/observability such as dashboards, alerts, tracing, and logging for fast detection and diagnosis.
- Run blameless post-incident reviews and turn learnings into durable fixes (tech changes, runbooks, automation, and process updates).
- Strengthen production ownership by collaborating across squads to improve operational practices and reliability.
Responsibilities / scope
- Hands-on work across services and APIs, with influence through technical direction, design reviews, documentation, and cross-team alignment.
- Participate in and lead operational excellence activities (on-call, triage, mitigation, RCA follow-through).
Requirements
- Staff-level IC leadership: influence through design reviews, technical direction, documentation, and cross-team alignment.
- Incident response leadership: on-call participation, triage/mitigation, and thorough RCA with follow-through.
- Production backend experience at scale: debugging distributed systems and performance issues.
- Observability expertise: practical logging/metrics/tracing and converting signals into actionable alerts/dashboards.
- Strong backend engineering with TypeScript/Node.js (or equivalent) and comfort working across services/APIs.
- Mobile collaboration experience and understanding of mobile↔backend integration (API compatibility, releases, feature flags).
Nice to have
- React Native experience and/or strong understanding of mobile architecture and release constraints.
- AWS (or similar cloud) experience, including familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and production tooling.
- Reliability program experience: SLOs, error budgets, incident processes, and operational excellence improvements.
- PostgreSQL/Redis experience and performance tuning in high-traffic systems.
- Experience in fast-growth environments with strong prioritization and pragmatic trade-off skills.
Working model
- Full remote (London, GB indicated), flexible working hours, unlimited paid time off, and supportive remote-first culture.
