About the role
Role Overview
As a Staff Product Manager (Wishlist) at Babylist, you will own the product end-to-end—from vision through execution. You’ll shape an evolving, multi-faceted gifting experience and deepen Babylist’s relationship with families beyond the newborn phase.
Key Missions
- Define and own the product roadmap, from the current MVP to a long-term, expanding gift-giving experience.
- Discover customer needs across parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and donors.
- Set product outcome metrics and own results (what changed, why, and what’s next).
Responsibilities
- Work closely with engineering and design to deliver product outcomes.
- Build and refine engagement and growth loops.
- Make roadmap decisions with an understanding of business levers / unit economics.
- Prioritize across a multi-sided product (simplicity for parents, preferences for kids, guidance for gift-givers).
- Talk to users directly, synthesize insights quickly, and iterate based on learnings.
- Use AI and hands-on prototyping to test ideas and unblock decisions.
Requirements / Profile
- Proven ability to build from 0 to 1 in uncertain environments.
- Strong product sense and judgment; can ship and also cut features for simplicity.
- Deep understanding of activation, retention, and user triggers.
- Comfortable thinking like a general manager (business model and levers).
- Customer-obsessed: direct user research, rapid synthesis, and visible learning/adaptation.
- Low-ego, cross-team collaboration, and action-oriented in ambiguity.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience using AI daily in product work.
- Comfort with light SQL, Figma, and AI-assisted prototyping; ability to stand up working prototypes.
- Ability to query data/codebase directly and contribute to execution when most valuable.
