About the role
Role overview
DoorDash is hiring a Staff Product Manager (People Product) to lead the first-party Custom Talent Management products on the People Technology Product team. This is an end-to-end product ownership role focused on building and evolving DoorDash-owned solutions that power performance, feedback, promotions, calibration, and talent insights globally.
What you’ll own
- Own core Talent Management products: Lead roadmap and execution for feedback, annual reviews, calibrations, promotions, and connected talent insights.
- Build durable first-party systems: Deliver capabilities such as employee profiles, manager dashboards, task orchestration, and talent signals that persist across cycles and reduce reliance on spreadsheets or one-off tools.
- Enable better talent decisions through product: Create consistent, actionable experiences so managers and leaders can evaluate performance, assess readiness, and invest in growth using reliable signals.
- Optimize for scale and signal quality: Build modular workflows/components across geographies, orgs, and brands, improving data quality, latency, and trust in talent signals.
- Partner closely with Engineering and Talent COEs: Translate program needs into product capabilities while balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform investment.
- Raise the bar for People Tech product delivery: Apply strong product judgment—define problem statements, scope MVPs intentionally, invest in compounding foundations, and deliver high-quality products in a fast-moving environment.
Requirements
- Track record building and optimizing internal products, especially Talent Management or broader People environments.
- Experience working with custom tools and integrating/using third-party SaaS data platforms.
- Strong ability to simplify complexity—especially around talent management UX and process simplification.
- Natural collaboration with designers, engineers, talent management specialists, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong communication skills; can clearly explain product decisions across speed, risk, and technical constraints.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience owning first-party products across annual or semi-annual cycles.
- Familiarity with performance, promotion, or compensation cycles, including deadlines, data freezes, change management, and stakeholder pressure.
