Staff Product Manager (Infrastructure & AI Dev Tools)

Role Overview

Join Docker as a Staff Product Manager (Infrastructure & AI Dev Tools). You will own the long-term product strategy for Docker’s Infrastructure & AI Dev Tools organization at the intersection of Docker’s internal developer platform and customer-facing products.

Key Missions

• Define and execute a long-term product strategy for Docker’s internal development platform and AI development tools, balancing investments between platform capabilities and AI.
• Treat the internal platform as a product by delivering:
  • Golden paths
  • Paved roadmaps
  • Self-service capabilities enabling teams to provision, deploy, observe, and operate with minimal friction.
• Identify internal tools and platform capabilities ready to become client offers, and own the strategy to move them from prototype to product.

Responsibilities

• Own product strategy and execution across internal platform and AI dev tooling as they evolve into customer-facing offerings.
• Lead product thinking through platform adoption, developer experience, and internal customer success.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders (including principal and staff engineers), Security, and product teams, and engage with customers as internal tools graduate to products.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of AI/agentic workflows and a hands-on familiarity with LLM-powered tooling or AI agents; good judgment on where automation belongs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for a remote-first environment.
• Deep knowledge of Platform-as-a-Product principles: self-service, golden paths, developer experience, and adoption over mandate.
• Proven ability to influence without authority and manage stakeholders effectively across technical organizations.
• Strong technical acumen to credibly discuss architecture and trade-offs across:
  • Kubernetes
  • CI/CD
  • Networking
  • APIs
  • Observability
• Proven track record building and scaling platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling products that enable other teams/developers.
• 10+ years of product management experience, including 4+ years at Staff level or above.
• Background in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, SRE, solutions architecture, or technical product management).
• Experience as an infrastructure/platform/developer-tools PM in B2B SaaS or developer-tools contexts.

Nice-to-Haves / Additional Signals

• Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure and related practices:
  • Multi-tenant Kubernetes / EKS, multi-region networking
  • Terraform and GitOps
  • Progressive delivery
• Observability familiarity: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.
• Track record productizing internal platforms/tools into commercial offerings.
• Understanding of enterprise requirements (security, compliance, audit).
