Staff Product Manager (IaaS Storage)

Role Overview

Staff Product Manager for IaaS Storage at DigitalOcean. You’ll own the vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for the next evolution of DigitalOcean’s storage products, collaborating closely with engineering, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop product vision, strategy, and roadmap for storage areas; translate them into prioritized, impactful, high-quality features.
• Understand customer needs for businesses building and scaling on DigitalOcean’s cloud platform; define "jobs to be done" and create user stories.
• Create business cases and model unit economics for storage features and capabilities.
• Define, track, and optimize KPIs for the product domain; measure success and adjust course as needed.
• Lead quarterly planning for owned areas; influence development, prioritize, and groom the product backlog.
• Drive alignment with partner products such as Compute, AI/ML, and GPUs.
• Contribute to pricing, product positioning, and go-to-market plans for storage; coordinate with business strategy, pricing, and GTM teams.
• Enable the Sales team with product training and supporting collateral.

• Proven product leadership with ability to lead and collaborate cross-functionally and take ownership.
• Strong bias for action: move fast, learn, iterate, while maintaining product quality.
• Customer obsession and deep understanding of challenges for businesses adopting cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering teams on a technical product; communicate with a developer-focused customer base.
• Data-driven mindset: formulate user hypotheses and connect features to measurable KPI outcomes.
• Strong verbal and written communication; lead technical product meetings and produce high-quality product documentation.

Nice to Have

• Industry experience as a technical Product Manager in cloud storage or closely related infrastructure domains.
