Staff Product Manager, Fintech - Billing

Role Overview

As a Staff Product Manager (Fintech - Billing) at Engine (HQ: Remote - USA), you’ll help modernize and scale the company’s end-to-end billing experience for B2B customers.

Responsibilities

• Billing & Invoicing Strategy: Define and execute strategies to modernize billing architecture, including statements, invoices, folios, receipts, and direct bill.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with engineering, accounting, finance, and customer-facing teams to understand approval and reconciliation flows, then translate insights into reliable billing experiences.
• Systems & Architecture Leadership: Lead evolution of the billing platform and integrations (e.g., accounting/ERP connections) to improve efficiency, resilience, and scalability while maintaining billing artifact accuracy.
• Customer-Centric Problem Solving: Design billing experiences that reflect how customers review, approve, and reconcile charges—turning complex workflows into intuitive self-serve tools.

Requirements

• Experience: 5–8+ years of hands-on product management, including meaningful ownership of billing/invoicing/accounting/internal financial systems (e.g., statements, folios, ledgers, approvals, AR/AP workflows).
• Skills: Structured problem-solver comfortable with complex, numbers-heavy domains; ability to break ambiguous, interdependent problems into milestones; shipped improvements in areas like invoice accuracy, time-to-payment, or billing automation.
• Collaboration & Communication: Deep collaboration with engineering and accounting/finance; clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience building or integrating with finance/accounting tools such as QuickBooks or Coupa.
• Experience designing internal platforms for high-scale B2B billing.
• Familiarity with large distributed systems and data integrity concepts.

Deliver incremental but high-impact improvements, moving from 0→10 and 10→100 in capability and outcomes.
