Staff Product Manager (Files Platform)

Role overview

Addepar is hiring a Staff Product Manager (Files Platform) to lead the product strategy and execution for its Files Platform. You will oversee a replatforming effort for file management, define a path for intelligent document capabilities, and drive migration and adoption outcomes across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Own product strategy and execution for the Files Platform, including:
  • Migration completion
  • Next-generation search
  • Metadata, sharing, workflows
  • API capabilities
• Lead product discovery with multiple user groups (advisors, operations, end clients, API consumers, and internal teams) and translate findings into a prioritized roadmap.
• Align product and engineering teams around a unified vision to build a true files platform delivering value across Addepar solutions (e.g., reports, portal, alternatives, ADM, and more).
• Drive successful cross-functional execution to ensure measurable adoption and outcomes.

Requirements

• Strong judgment on build vs. buy/partner decisions and ability to explain tradeoffs to stakeholders.
• Commercially minded: connect Files Platform investments to client adoption, retention, expansion, operational efficiency, partner strategy, and monetization.
• Interest in intelligent document workflows, including AI, metadata, search, classification, summarization, and workflow automation.
• Deep customer and workflow empathy across user types (advisors, end clients, operations, API consumers, and external collaborators like tax advisors/auditors).
• Persuasive communication that simplifies complexity and builds alignment across product, engineering, design, security, legal, and go-to-market.
• Systems thinking for technically complex platforms involving APIs, permissioning, metadata, search, migrations, integrations, and data models.
• 7+ years of product management experience (or equivalent in fintech/SaaS/enterprise software/data platforms/workflow/document management/infrastructure-heavy products).
• Proven ability to own product strategy and execution end-to-end (discovery → launch → adoption → measurable outcomes), with a data-driven and impact-oriented approach.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in enterprise document management / collaboration workflows or data-platform style products with heavy integration and permissioning needs.
