About the role
Role overview
Join Babylist as a Staff Product Manager (AI Builder). You will own a major surface of the consumer experience and set the standard for AI-native product development—driving strategy, quality, and impact while partnering with stakeholders across the company.
Key responsibilities
- Own end-to-end product management for a major consumer product surface, from strategy to execution.
- Establish high standards for product quality and craft, incorporating AI-native tools and workflows.
- Mentor and develop other Product Managers to improve team capability and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead cross-functional execution with clear communication and strong collaboration across teams.
- Drive commercial and customer outcomes by owning unit economics and defining success metrics.
- Make disciplined post-launch decisions (persist/pivot/stop) based on measurable results.
- Provide strategic foresight by defining the roadmap for 6, 12, and 18 months.
Requirements
- Proven product leadership with experience owning a major consumer product surface end-to-end at meaningful scale.
- Demonstrated ability to define product strategy and deliver measurable impact with cross-functional teams and exec-level stakeholders.
- Strong consumer experience expertise: understand users, co-create with them, and bring both qualitative and quantitative evidence.
- Ability to communicate with extreme clarity and encourage productive conflict to surface misalignment early.
- Commercial ownership: understand how the product monetizes and can defend unit economics with Finance and Data.
- Deep quality ownership: set the quality bar and send teams back for iteration without breaking trust.
- Outcome ownership: focus on impact (not shipping), hold accountability, and define success measures.
- Adaptability: thrive when priorities shift; actively choose change rather than resisting it.
- Technical fluency (e.g., CS background or developer experience) and ability to bridge product and build.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior senior product roles such as Senior PM, Staff PM, GPM, or Director.
- A builder-world background where the line between product and build was often blurred.
- Evidence of shipped work and projects you helped kill to demonstrate product judgment and taste.
