Role

Staff Product Engineer (Fullstack) at Moxie, operating as a senior technical leader across the platform. This is a high-impact, hands-on role focused on architectural ownership, cross-team technical leadership, and delivering complex, business-critical initiatives.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

Own and evolve major parts of Moxie’s frontend and backend architecture while balancing delivery with scalability, reliability, and developer velocity
Lead technical design and architectural reviews for complex, cross-cutting initiatives
Identify systemic risks and technical bottlenecks; drive improvements to stability and performance
Define and maintain engineering standards, patterns, and best practices across teams

Fullstack Development

Work on the highest-impact, highest-complexity problems across the stack
Drive architecture and implementation primarily in your area of deep expertise (frontend or backend), while contributing across the full stack
Build performant frontend experiences using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Next.js
Build and evolve backend systems using Python and Django, including integrations with internal services and third-party vendors
Ensure services are observable, reliable, and operable in production

Cross-Team Collaboration

Partner with product, design, and engineering leadership to translate business goals into technical strategies and execution plans
Drive alignment on shared abstractions, APIs, and platform-level initiatives
Act as a trusted technical advisor on tradeoffs under real-world constraints

Mentorship & Engineering Excellence

Mentor and coach engineers (role includes meaningful influence over standards and direction, even without direct people management)

Requirements

Deep expertise in at least one half of the stack (frontend or backend)
Working experience across the full stack to collaborate, design, and execute end-to-end

Nice-to-haves

Candidates with deep expertise across both frontend and backend

Work Mode

Fully remote (work from home)
Core overlap with 9 AM – 5 PM EST, with flexible hours between 7 AM – 8 PM EST
