Staff Product Engineer (Florianópolis)

Role overview

You will be a Staff Product Engineer for one initiative at a time. Each initiative is run by an “iron triangle” of you (engineering), a PM, and a designer, plus support from an Engineering Manager. You lead AI agents that implement most of the code, and you are accountable for whether the initiative moves the target metric—not for the number of code merges.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the engineering anchor for an initiative across the full lifecycle:
  • Shaping the problem and aligning on outcomes
  • Deciding technical approach (architecture, data model, integrations)
  • Leading AI agents that author the majority of the implementation
  • Shipping to production and ensuring safe, correct delivery
  • Participating in metric review 2–4 weeks after launch to determine whether the initiative “did it work”
• Own outcome accountability with the team:
  • Make the right call when tradeoffs and decisions are needed
  • Write hand-authored code yourself for sensitive areas when required
• Build agent-led delivery quality:
  • Define prompts, guardrails, evals, tests, and review loops so agents ship production-ready code
  • Ensure strong production correctness, security posture, performance, and observability
• Drive initiative execution and collaboration:
  • Daily partnership with PM (scope, tradeoffs) and designer (UX and in-tool prototyping with agents)
  • Weekly check-ins with Engineering Manager on initiative health, blockers, and growth
• Own operational rigor:
  • Observability and rollback strategy
  • Document technical decisions and revisit them when data shows you were wrong

Required / implied expectations

• Ability to lead AI-agent workflows with staff-level software engineering quality.
• Strong ownership mindset: accountable for outcomes and safety, not ticket throughput.
• Competence shipping to production on a real customer/pro market, with an emphasis on correctness, security, and performance.
