Staff Product Engineer

Role Overview

Join Ashby as a Staff Product Engineer to take ownership of a significant portion of the product. You’ll drive projects from research through implementation in a low-process, innovation-friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own a large part of the product end-to-end, from research to shipping.
• Design and build features, including interview scheduling automation.
• Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to deliver projects successfully.
• Move with urgency while maintaining a strong focus on quality.

Requirements

• Seek continuous improvement and be open to frequent feedback.
• Willing to tackle any part of the technology stack (frontend and/or infrastructure/backend) to ship effectively.
• Ability to balance speed and quality.
• Create leverage through automation and abstractions to reduce tedious work.
• Comfortable with high product and technical ambiguity, especially at the intersection of both.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with stakeholders and teammates.

Nice to Have

• Experience building flexible abstractions and solving classes of problems (not just CRUD apps).
• Enjoy typed languages (e.g., TypeScript is emphasized, though prior experience isn’t required).
