About the role
Staff Product Engineer (Full Remote)
Join Ashby as a Staff Product Engineer. You’ll take ownership of a significant portion of the product and manage projects from start to finish—from discovery to delivery.
What you’ll do
- Own product areas end-to-end: take features from research/specs through implementation.
- Conduct competitor research and write product specifications.
- Create wireframes and contribute to product design/requirements.
- Build and ship features as needed across the stack (including frontend and infrastructure choices).
- Collaborate with clients to understand needs and translate them into product functionality.
- Participate in onboarding new employees and contribute to training the team.
Requirements / Profile
- Ability to balance speed and quality in a fast-moving but quality-focused product environment.
- Willingness to work across the full technology stack as required to deliver outcomes.
- Experience handling projects with high product + technical ambiguity.
- Strong collaboration and communication with stakeholders and other engineers.
- Drive to improve skills and thrive in an environment with frequent feedback.
- Focus on creating leverage through automation, abstractions, and developer productivity improvements.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with building abstractions and flexible systems beyond simple CRUD.
- Experience contributing to design artifacts (e.g., wireframes) and product specs.
