Staff Product Designer, Platform

Role overview

Staff Product Designer, Platform at Boulevard. You’ll operate at a strategic, platform level—shaping core concepts, patterns, and frameworks that let the product scale across customer segments, geographies, and future use cases while staying deeply usable and human.

What you’ll do

• Lead platform-level design strategy with Product and Engineering, defining success metrics aligned to long-term company goals.
• Design foundational concepts, patterns, and frameworks to enable scalability, flexibility, and extensibility across Boulevard’s ecosystem.
• Help evolve the platform to support:
  • Upmarket customers with more complex workflows, permissions, and operational needs
  • Multi-location businesses balancing centralized control with local flexibility
  • International expansion including localization, regional requirements, and scalable global patterns
• Translate complex technical/system-level problems into clear, intuitive, trustworthy user experiences.
• Partner with engineers to guide implementation and preserve design intent in production.
• Act as a design leader and multiplier: raise the quality bar, influence peers, and contribute to design culture, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate to evolve the design system to support platform complexity and future growth.
• Explore and help define responsible AI opportunities (internal tooling and customer-facing workflows) with a strong focus on trust, clarity, and real customer value.

What you’ll need to thrive

• Strong systems thinking, comfortable designing for scale, flexibility, and long-term evolution.
• Deep understanding of the full iterative design process, including research, journey mapping, content design, wireframing, prototyping, testing, and high-fidelity execution.
• Proven ability to partner closely with Product and Engineering (role text cuts off mid-sentence, but collaboration is clearly emphasized).
