Staff Product Designer

Role Overview

Staff Product Designer for OpenSea’s remote-first design team. You’ll define and deliver high-quality user experiences for how people discover, trade, and interact with digital assets—working closely with engineers and fellow designers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design initiatives from concept through launch, partnering with engineers and designers to deliver strong user experiences.
• Translate product ideas into actionable design directions via research, prototyping, and iteration.
• Create end-to-end experiences balancing user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.
• Evolve and contribute to the design system to improve quality, consistency, and efficiency across OpenSea surfaces.
• Communicate design rationale clearly across disciplines to align teams around shared goals.
• Help shape design culture by modeling strong craft, collaboration, and curiosity.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product design experience across both consumer and platform-facing products.
• Ability to own complex, ambiguous problem spaces and produce elegant, intuitive solutions.
• Strong product sense; comfortable operating without extensive structure.
• Excellent interaction and visual design skills (portfolio demonstrating systems thinking and detail).
• Experience collaborating closely with engineers to ship technically informed designs.
• Breadth across UI/UX and motion & interaction (with deep expertise in 1–2 areas).
• Exceptional communication and storytelling to influence cross-functional partners.

Nice to Have

• Experience in emerging technologies such as Web3, fintech, or AI.

Compensation & Benefits

• US base salary range: $175,000–$275,000 plus benefits & equity (international compensation varies by market).
