About the role
Role Overview
Dropbox is hiring a Staff Product Designer to lead design for CompanyOS within the New Initiatives org. CompanyOS is an AI-native operating system for work Dropbox uses internally to plan, execute, and measure critical initiatives.
In this role, you’ll act as the design owner for a 0 → 1 product, partnering with Office of the CEO (OCEO), product, and engineering to turn ambiguous problems into clear, intuitive workflows.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with OCEO, product, and engineering to define and drive the user experience and interface for CompanyOS.
- Create and iterate on wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows to communicate design ideas.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
- Translate complex technical concepts and requirements into accessible, intuitive user experiences.
- Elevate design quality by aligning with Dropbox design systems and partnering with engineering to ship high-quality experiences.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders, team members, and users to continuously improve the product.
- Stay current on AI/productivity trends and competitive landscape to inform design.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in product design.
- Exceptional craft in visual design, interaction design, and prototyping.
- Proficiency with prototyping tools to demonstrate complex features and web flows.
- Strong customer obsession, with extensive use of UX research for foundational insights.
- Experience across the full product lifecycle (discovery → launch → iteration) in highly ambiguous environments.
- Ownership mindset with proactive project/team driving.
- Excellent communication; comfortable presenting demos to executive audiences and aligning with cross-functional partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading 0–1 product initiatives.
- Experience collaborating with executives, incorporating strategic direction, and making design recommendations.
- Ability to design highly complex, multi-step workflows with strong decision depth and dependencies.
- Interest and familiarity with AI/ML and emerging technologies.
