Staff Product Designer (Incident Response Management)

Role Overview

Staff Product Designer focused on Incident Response & Management experiences for Grafana Labs. You’ll design practical, scalable user experiences and help evolve the Product Design team through mentoring and new ways of working.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Design user experiences for Grafana’s incident management solutions, ensuring practicality and effectiveness.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to iterate and improve products; document user needs and detailed designs.
• Partner with researchers and clients to plan and execute formative and evaluative research initiatives.
• Contribute to the Product Design team’s evolution, including mentoring other designers.

Requirements

• Ability to make design decisions balancing business goals, product priorities, customer feedback, research insights, and technical constraints.
• Ability to deliver pragmatic, cohesive, scalable design solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience designing for developers, SREs, and other technical users.
• Proven experience working fully remotely, with transparency, autonomy, and open sharing.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams across time zones while keeping a clear design vision.
• Portfolio showing design work that improved measurable business goals/metrics/KPIs for complex, data-rich dev tooling and/or enterprise SaaS.
• Personal drive for diverse perspectives, progress over perfection, follow-through, and peer support/mentorship.

Nice-to-Haves (Highly Relevant)

• Experience designing developer/SRE tools for critical cloud infrastructure, security, or high-stress scenarios.
• Experience designing cross-platform developer experiences across web, desktop, mobile, CLI, API, and MCP integrations, and agentic harnesses.
• Understanding of incident response practices in observability, cloud infrastructure, database monitoring, and/or cybersecurity.
