About the role

Role overview

As a Staff Product Designer (Fintech) at Jobber, you’ll shape user experiences and set UX/design strategy within the Fintech team. You’ll partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and Data to understand customer needs, align on long-term goals, and deliver high-impact design from conception through launch.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end high-impact design projects from concept to delivery, ensuring quality, consistency, and innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to uncover customer needs, identify opportunities, and align with the long-term vision.
  • Define and drive UX strategy for your product domain by breaking down complex problems into thoughtful, scalable solutions.
  • Mentor and support other designers; act as a coach and role model to elevate design quality across the product group.
  • Champion customer-centric design thinking and advocate for exceptional UX throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills (written, verbal, and visual) with the ability to explain impact, rationale, and trade-offs.
  • Expert visual and interaction design skills demonstrated through a portfolio.
  • 7+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio showing polished, impactful UX for web or mobile SaaS products.
  • Ability to balance long-term vision with delivering incremental value.
  • Mastery of design tools, especially Figma and FigJam (plus ability to choose the right tool for the task).
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; curious and proactive in addressing customer pain points.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor designers and elevate craft through coaching.
  • Experience working with data teams to understand customers and measure outcomes.
