Staff Product Designer, Developer Platform

Role Overview

Netflix is seeking a Staff Product Designer for the Developer Platform, shaping the future of developer experience. You will design intuitive, end-to-end workflows and interfaces that help engineers build and ship faster, with higher quality, and less cognitive load.

Responsibilities

• Design vision & strategy for complex developer platform initiatives, improving developer productivity
• Define and evolve scalable design patterns and systems across the platform
• Identify innovation opportunities using user research and technical insight
• Create cohesive experiences that reduce cognitive load and improve developer experience measurement
• Lead end-to-end design for complex technical workflows
• Craft and validate prototypes to communicate solutions effectively
• Scope and negotiate realistic deliverables with partners
• Mentor other designers and elevate technical product design practices
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and researchers

Requirements (Essential)

• 10+ years as a Product Designer (or equivalent)
• Experience designing developer tools, platforms, or other technical products
• Strong portfolio showing complex system design and technical product work
• Proven ability to lead design initiatives from concept to launch
• Expert in design tools (e.g., Figma) and prototyping
• Strong systems thinking and ability to design scalable solutions
• Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional partners without direct authority
• Strong communication of design decisions to technical stakeholders
